Make a Donation

HART depends on the generosity and support of people like you who believe that the animals we rescue and shelter deserve loving care in a safe, secure and healing environment. Your donations also help support our efforts to build a “community of kindness” by promoting spaying/neutering of companion animals, educating the public about responsible pet care and by encouraging the humane treatment of all animals.

We are a private, volunteer-run shelter and do not receive government funding of any kind, so we rely entirely on the support of individuals, businesses and foundations.  HART is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so all contributions are tax deductible as provided by law.

Planned Giving

If you or someone you know would like to make a gift of equities, real estate, life insurance, retirement funds, charitable annuity or other planned giving, please contact Joann Wallace at 233-8101 or e-mail info@hartofme.com. Making a bequest in a will is a wonderful way to assure support for HART in the future. Please consult your attorney for the appropriate legal documents needed to make a bequest.

Sponsor a Cat

Sponsoring a HART cat is a great opportunity to support the shelter and have a direct impact on the lives of our residents who consider the shelter to be their “home” while they await adoption. Help to Raise Funds

$100,000 Shelter+ Challenge

All you have to do is click the purple button to the left, then search and vote for "HART" in the Animal Rescue Site's $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge. It's absolutely free! You can vote once a day, every day, from May 17 through August 22, 2010.  Every time you vote, or tell a friend to vote, you are making a huge difference for us.  Thank You!

Eligible organizations with the most votes could receive a weekly prize and/or one of the other grants below:

• Grand Prize: One $10,000 grant!
• Second Prize: One $7,000 grant!
• Third Prize: One $5,000 grant!
• Most Touching Story Prize - May: One $2,000 grant!
• Most Touching Story Prize - June: One $2,000 grant!
• Most Touching Story Prize - July: One $2,000 grant!
• Most Touching Story Prize - August: One $2,000 grant!
• State Winners*: Fifty-one $1,000 state grants (50 U.S. states and Washington D.C.)

Printer Cartridge Redemption

Instead of tossing your empty ink jet and laster printer cartridges in the trash and hurting the environment, they can now be brought to HART where we will turn them into cash for the shelter.  ALL brands are accepted, but the original manufacturer's label must still be on the cartridge and it must not have been previously recycled.  If you're unsure whether your cartridges meet this criteria, bring them to HART anyhow. We'll sort them out, so bring them all!  Please contact Marcia Carr with questions.
