Looking for a permanent, loving home...
The cats on this page are all being cared for in our foster homes around the Greater Portland area while they wait to be adopted. Many of these cats are recent mothers whose litters have all grown and been adopted and now they are looking for their forever homes; some weren't happy in the shelter environment and preferred a quieter place to spend their days; and others just needed attention and TLC. Cats in foster care are generally faster to adapt to their adopted home because they have been living in a home environment. Sharmin and Ccoo Mae- Adult females
Beautiful Sharmin is a Coon mix tortie/patch tabby lady who is about three years old. Her foster mom describes her to be a model - tall and gorgeous! She is living in foster care and turning into a real love. She has become best buddies with the lovely Coco Mae, a half Himmie and half Siamese lady. She is simply stunning, and these two play and groom each other, and have been wonderful to each other in learning to trust and love again. You will not meet a more gorgeous pair of ladies who are gentle and sweet, and who deserve a very special home.

Skilly-Adult female
Skilly is a beautiful princess who wants to be the center of attention. She loves being pet and pampered and is quite the love bug! She is currently in foster care to help manage her weight. Skilly would be happy in most home environments, including other pets if introduced slowly. |
Jessie- Adult female
Jessie is a beautiful adult female with striking markings and features. We believe that she is part Bengal. She comes to you from a loving foster family where she has socialized with adults, older kids and other cats and kittens.When Jessie becomes familiar with you, she is very warm and loving. She has a calm personality and although she has shared space w/ other cats, she prefers interaction w/ people and she likes to have space and free roaming. Ideally Jessie would thrive best in an atmosphere where she is the only cat in the home or in a home of not more than two. She does enjoy being in the same room with you and will sit beside you purring, and loves to be petted. She also adores the end of your bed! She is playful when you initiate play. |

Snufferina-Young female
This soft and silky young lady is quite light in weight for one born last summer...but not without an abundance of energy...flying around the house with the help of her extra large front paws and boundless enthusiasm. She sounds "snuffy" and has taken extra time to recover from a big case of upper respiratory, but almost through it. Snuffy may always breath a little noisily and need an antibiotic periodically, but more like someone living with allergies than sick. She engages in play with all the other household kitties and loves to receive kisses and curl up in her bed next to you when it is bedtime.

P.G. - Adult male
PG is an 8 year old boy who was brought to us by a caring vet tech as he was sadly being abused. PG does well with other cats, but needs to be in a dog-free home as he is terrified of them! This guy has soft and silky black and white short hair and piercing blue eyes. He is affectionate, but tentative, so needs a little time to warm up to you. Please consider giving this guy a new lease on life that he so deserves! |
Sweetie- Young female
Sweetie is just that...a great young kitty with a very outgoing and loving disposition. She is an all black kitty who isabout 2 years old most likely. She came to HART as a stray with her three kittens who have all found homes. Sweetie lives with other cats and a dog in her foster home and is just a great kitty according to her foster mom. Daphne- Baby female
Daphne is a sweet little 8 week old kitten who has just come into foster care. She is a pretty black and white tuxedo kitten with short hair. Daphne is very playful, loving to explore and "pounce" on her sisters, Matilda and Posie Please call to arrange a visit soon with these three pretty girls!

Drew and Dory- Baby amle and female
These two 14 week old kittens are looking for their new home together. Drew is the one with more white on him. He is going to be a big boy and has longer fluffy hair. Dory is more of a gray striped girl with somewhat shorter hair. These two are very attached and sleep on top of each other, and just seem to be very bonded. If you would consider a nice pair of kitties then these are the two for you!

Anisette and Sambuca- Baby females
These two beautiful all black beauties are about 5 months old and are looking for their forever home together. They were found abandoned in a basement, and were brought to the shelter when they were about 12 weeks old. One of our volunteers is fostering them and giving them lots of TLC to help comfort and reassure them. Anisette and Sambuca are still a bit timid, but when held and cuddled will purr and relax and truly enjoy you. These kitties need a bit of patience and lots of love to blossom into the wonderful kitties we know they will become.

Ben-Young male
Ben is a very sweet and loving 8 month old kitten who was brought in as a stray. This boy loves to be cuddled and craves your attention. He is very outgoing and also very playful. Ben is a real character with tons of personality! He would do well with kids, other kitties, and most likely a dog, too.

Laser- Baby male
Cute little Laser is a 10 week old male kitten who is friendly and playful. He will be ready for his new home now and has an almost identical brother, Pico, who is a bit smaller but just as cute. These boys are a soft gray with white accents. Please call to meet them and claim one or both as your very own!

Pico- Baby male
Little Pico is the brother to Laser, and these two boys are very sweet and affectionate guys. They love to snuggle, and be right around you. Pico is almost a twin to Laser, but his white nose smudge is a little shorter and wider. Please call soon to meet these great little ten week old boys, and claim one of both for your very own!

Abby- Adult female
Look at this adorable face! Miss Abby is a momma who has raised her six kids and looking for her own new home now. She is a very pretty petite gray tiger stripes. She is a kitty with lots of personality. She enjoys people, and playing, even rough housing with her litter of all boys! Abby would do well in most homes as she is quite laid back.She would LOVE to find a home with one of her kittens that are still looking...either Truffle or Rufus! Please call to meet this pretty girl!

Eva- Baby female
Eva is a very petite cute young 9 week old girl who is all black. She is a playful one, who once she feels comfortable with you, wants to snuggle and be close. Eva lives with friends Kolbie and Rufus, and although the three are not related by blood, they all sleep, groom and play with each other as if they ere littler mates. Eve has a sweet little face, and big expressive gold eyes. Please come to meet and maybe one of her "step brothers" too!

Kolbie- Baby male
Kolbie is an exceptional little guy who made his way here all the way from Florida. He is chock full of personality. Kolbie wants to be right around you all the time and is very loving and affectionate. He LOVES to play and uses his paws almost like hands. Kolbie has a long and lean body with very soft blackish brown fur..almost like a mink. This boy is great fun and would make a wonderful companion kitty to kids, other cats, and even dogs.

Schooner and Skiff- Young males
Are you looking for a pair of fluffy little babies? These two are very friendly and loving and certainly fit the bill as far as being long hair babies! Schooner is the adorable all gray boy and his brother, Skiff is the handsome all black guy. These two are about 7months old now and just recently returned to us due to their owner's serious illness. They have never been separated and we want them to be able to find their new loving home together. They love to be brushed, and are full of energy. Please come to meet this handsome pair of little guys!

Jack- Baby male
Jack is an adorable little Russian Blue mix boy who is in foster care with his brother, Mickey, and sister, Minnie. Jack is a friendly guy who loves to chirp and play. He is about 11 weeks old and all set for his forever home. Please l to meet him, and perhaps a sibling too!
