Eenie - Adult male
Eenie is a big ole boy who is a rather independent guy, but does tolerate your affection. He is a handsome dude...that is for sure. He can play a bit rough at times, and sometimes would rather just be left alone. Eenie is in a room with other kitties, and seems to get along well with them. He is about 6 years old, and has quite a bit of energy left. Please call the shelter to met this boy who deserves a family.

 

Smokey - Senior male

Smokey is an older gray cat with lovely light green eyes. He has a very easy-going nature and seems quite content to snooze the day away with his best bud Sawyer. Smokey enjoys being pet and is very happy when he sees you come into the room. That said, he probably won't be following you all over the house but rather will wait till you come into the room where he is snoozing and then snuggle right up in your lap or on the chair next to yours content in knowing you are right there! Currently, Smokey lives in a room with some cats that are on the shy side so when you come to meet him you'll notice him right away. Just visit our Zoom Room and look for the gray guy who perks right up when he sees you enter … that is our wonderful little Smokey!

Abraham - Adult male

Abraham is a nice younger male cat who was rescued from a barn by one of our devoted volunteers. He is a very handsome boy with a touch of white on him, and big double paws. He is melding well at the shelter with other cats in his room, and is quite frisky. Abraham is your typical orange mellow boy who has a lot of love to give!

 

Coco- Senior female
Coco II is a pretty short hair gray female with a small white patch on her chest and a cute gray nose. She is 14 years old and is very sweet. She has velvet-like hair and is very friendly, talkative, a little bit of a couch potato. Coco II is affectionate yet independent. She was abandoned by her owner when she moved away and the roommate brought her to us where she'd be loved. She was kept in a basement for 5 years without much human contact, but you'd never know it. She loves to have her head rubbed and to be talked to. It is heartbreaking for an older kitty like this to be abandoned and brought to the sheller..won't you be the one to give her the forever home she truly deserves!

 

Sweetness - Senior female
Sweetness was surrendered with another kitty who has since found a loving home, and now it is her turn!  Sweetness is a big gray female kitty with some buff coloring. She enjoys mingling with the other cats in her room, and is very gentle. She prefers rubbing up against you and settling in beside you, rather than being held on your lap. Please call to meet this mild-mannered soul!

Nala - Senior female
 Nala is a beautiful long haired white female with gorgeous blue eyes. She has a Siamese look to her eyes, a little crossed. She is 13 years old and was surrendered by the owner due to allergies. She is friendly to family & visitors, is very affectionate, quiet, lovable, independent. She plays gently and is good with other cats. Not great with dogs---avoided them. Nala has not been around children and would be best in an adult household, but with lots of attention and perhaps several people. She is quite petite and light-weight. Very sweet. Likes to be held and loved. A real sweetie!!



Shy Kitty - Senior male

Come meet our sweet, older Shy Kitty. He is one of the original founding fathers at the shelter, and came from New York where he was living on the streets. He was rescued by the person who first started HART, and has been with us for over 10 years. Shy Kitty is so named because he is. He always comes to greet you when you first come in the room where he lives, but still acts afraid and non-trusting. This handsome big boy is not hissy and would never attack, he is as meek as they come. This nice kitty would just love to find a comfy couch to snooze on, especially if it is in a sunny place! Shy Kitty enjoys your pets, and is very gentle. He just needs a patient human to show him some kindness.

Chandler - Adult Male
Chandler has been at HART for many years. He's a handsome short hair orange and white boy. He originally came from New York when the shelter in Maine first started. He is probably 14 years old, plus.....we don't really know. He is very sweet and still has a lot of spunk. Chandler loves to be held and adores just being loved. He does need to be on a special diet. Chandler can get a little anxious, so he should be in a nice quiet home, though he does love to play. He probably should be the only cat as he likes to be the boss. He's got a very adorable, wise old face. Come meet this HART veteran and invite him home.

Mackenzie - Adult female
Mackenzie is a special lady who is about 6 years old and also a diabetic. She is so sweet and gentle, and will win you over in a heart beat. Mackenzie has a lovely classic swirl tabby coat with a bronze glow. She is really quite striking, and just a lovely lady. Please call the shelter for more details on her care and how we can help you if you can offer her a loving home!

 

Nicky - Adult male
Nicky is a wonderfully outgoing and personable 5 year old orange and white guy with long hair. He came to us from a Maine vet because the elderly couple that owned him were now unable to care for him. He is a rambunctious guy - very playful and talkative but also independent and affectionate. His play can be a little rough, so he would not be a good choice for a family with very young children. Nicky also does not like to have his tail brushed or get his nails clipped, so watch out! Please call to meet this great guy with lots of energy!

 


Miss Lucy - Adult female

Miss Lucy is a friendly lady with an outgoing personality. She arrived at the shelter with an eating disorder and a need to lose some weight. Now in foster care, she has lost weight and is doing great. Miss Lucy is a sweet gray and white lady who is about 5 years old. She is active and gets along well with other kitties. Please call to meet her and give her the special attention and love she craves.

 

 

Tessa - Adult female
Tessa is a short-haired orange and white kitty who is finally relaxing at the shelter. She is about 7 years old and is quiet and affectionate. Tessa was surrendered with another kitty, who has since been adopted, due to their owner's illness. Tessa is shy with people and needs a quiet home without children. She has a very sweet personality and is a favorite at the shelter. Please call to meet her and see for yourself.

 

 

Houdini - Adult male

Houdini is a middle aged kitty who was surrendered to us by his owner a couple of years ago, and just has not learned to adapt very well to shelter life. He hides and is very timid, although he was not this way for his owner. We would love for Houdini to find another very understanding human who will give him lots of TLC and patience to bring him back out to the cat we know he is. He has handsome good orange tabby markings with a white bib and nose, and cute little white paws. This sweet kitty will come over to you in the room when you go in, reach up for a head butt or pat, and then scurry away. He loves the other kitties, so perhaps his new home could have one or two others. Houdini will flourish with just the right touch in a quieter environment. Please call if you think you can offer this to him!

Haley - Adult female

Haley is a 6 year old kitty who was discovered living in a barn a year ago, and brought to our shelter. She has come a very long way, and actually bonded with one of our other kitties, Birdie, in the room where she lives. She is very cute with her torti good looks and a stripe of white on her nose! Haley would love to finds a nice quiet home where she can blossom into the loving cat she shows promise of. Of course it would be ideal for her friend, Birdie, to go along, but not imperative. Haley craves a loving touch and will make you very happy. Please open your heart and home to this pretty, deserving girl!

 

Dusty 2- Senior female
Dusty is a delightful 12 year old lady who was surrendered by her owner because she would wake her up at night to play! Dusty is friendly and coy....wanting to show off and roll over to capture your attention. Dusty is a tad on the plump side and could use a younger companion to play with...either human or feline. She would like a quieter home still, but really needs to have some time spent with her to exercise and play. Dusty enjoys having her long hair brushed and is a very gentle and loving girl. She has a pretty gray face with a bit of white to highlight her eyes. Please call to meet this lovely lady and make her your very own!

 

 

Philip- Senior male
Phillip is a very handsome laid back boy who arrived to our shelter this week because his owner had to move abruptly. He is quite possibly the biggest cat we have ever met! Despite being shell shocked at having landed in the shelter, he purrs and head butts and craves your attention. Phillip has big gold eyes that are looking a bit sad right now as he does not know what happened to him, and his buddies Trouble and Sam.. These three are all beautiful Maine Coon mixes with long luxurious fur. Phillip is the oldest of the three at 13, but you would never guess his age. Please call soon to give this deserving guy a new forever home.

 

Sam- Senior male                                           Sam is another new arrival from a woman who had to move. He is a gorgeous Maine Coon mix who came in with Phillip and Trouble. He has big expressive eyes and long thick fur....and enormous paws!Sam is also laid back and enjoys being brushed and pet. His motor is quite loud! This boy is about 10, but again, as with Phillip, you would never know it. he loves his catnip, and any and all attention you give him. Please call this nice boy to give him the loving home he deserves!

Calie- Senior female                                             Calie is a beautiful long hair calico with very distinctive markings. She is 11 years old and was an owner surrender as they were unable to care for her properly. She is absolutely adorable. She loves lots of attention and is affectionate and gentle. She plays gently. She should be the only cat as others cause her stress. She has not been around children. This pretty girl and waiting for just the right person to come along and take her home. Please...won't that be you?
