Dakota - Young adult female
Dakota is a very sweet and mellow all glossy black kitty with pretty white whiskers. She is a young mother...having raised her one and only litter this summer at no more than one year old. Dakota is a very laid back and gentle kitty who is outgoing and friendly. She was in foster care while her babies were little and slept with her foster parents every night, purred and was carried around by young children. She has a great disposition and would love to find her forever home. Please all the shelter to meet this nice girl.

Twister - Young male
Twister is a very handsome brown tabby male who is not even a year old. He came in from another rescue group last spring and had a tough time adjusting to life at the shelter without his buddy, Flipper, who went to a new home almost immediately. Twister is a fun boy who LOVES to play. When you enter the room with a toy, he spies you (and the toy!) and follows you around to play with him - or at the very least, surrender the new toy! This boy is FUN, FUN, FUN! He has soft silky short hair and a very playful personality. He would do well in a home where there are slightly older kids who will keep him busy! Blake- Young male
Blake is a wonderfully sweet young male kitty who was left abandoned after being hit by a car. This guy was found by a caring volunteer and brought to the shelter to be healed. His leg was set and he is now back to normal mobility. Through it all this kitty was nothing but lovable and purring and just as nice as ever. He seems to get along with other kitties and is just a cat who wants to be near you and loved all the time. Please call to meet our very special boy! |
CoCo - Senior female
Coco II is a pretty short hair gray female with a small white patch on her chest and a cute gray nose. She is 14 years old and is very sweet. She has velvet-like hair and is very friendly, talkative, a little bit of a couch potato. Coco II is affectionate, yet independent. She was abandoned by her owner who moved away and the roommate brought her to us, where "she'd be loved". She was kept in a basement for 5 years without much human contact, but you'd never know it. She loves to have her head rubbed and to be talked to. It is heartbreaking for an older kitty like this to be abandoned and brought to the sheller. Won't you be the one to give her the forever home she truly deserves! |
Moonpie- Young male
Moonpie is a handsome young male kitty...a classic black and white tuxedo boy who is a very recent arrival to the shelter. He is outgoing and friendly...and a big clown. Moonpie loves a good head rub and sometimes even a belly rub. He is a great big sweetie who is looking for you to make him yours. Please call to meet this Nice Guy! |
Simon- Adult male
Simon is a handsome short hair tiger with striking blue, slightly crossed eyes---a little Siamese maybe? He is 8 years old and was surrendered because the family was having a baby and they didn't think he would do well in that situation. He is talkative, friendly to everyone, playful, independent, a lap cat - sometimes. He loves to watch birds and will chatter the whole time. He has not been around kids or other animals and can play a little rough. He loves to climb up high. This kitty is a real entertaining guy and would make a great companion. Smokey Momma- Young female
Smokey Momma is a gorgeous dilute girl lady who is only a year or two old. She was rescued with her two kittens from an over crowded living situation, and has been living in a foster home while raising her young ones. Smokey Momma has one kitten left..a cute all gray boy named Dapper, but she has been spayed and is all set for her new home. She has soft shiny fur and a very laid back disposition. She gets along well with other kitties and is quite playful herself! Smokey Momma is affectionate, always wanting to be nearby and available for pets. She doesn't jump onto your lap,, but she will snuggle at night or while you are on the couch. This pretty girl would make a wonderful companion for anyone. Roxy- Adult female
Roxy is a new arrival to the shelter. She was found as as tray with her kittens and the whole family was brought to the shelter.. Roxy is a young lady..perhaps a year or two, and very clean and with silky soft hair. She is a very pretty patch tabby with the classic brown tiger striping and orange flecks in her coat. Roxy is playful and friendly, and rubs around your legs and begs for attention. This nice young lady is ready to join your home..please call to meet her soon. |
Yoda and Bouncer- Adult male and female
Yoda and Bouncer were an owner surrender due to living circumstances and a mom and daughter having to move in together. We'd like to keep them together because of Yoda's age. Yoda is a short hair orange and white tiger male. He is 17 years old and is described as being affectionate, quiet, solitary, friendly to family, very active, and plays gently. His owner describes him as "a doll" and very sweet. He adores Bouncer and they will groom each other and sleep together. They are good buddies and Yoda, being older, would really miss Bouncer. Bouncer is a short hair female about 4 years old. She loves Yoda. She together. is a, lap cat, affectionate, talkative, very active, and friendly to everyone. She is independent fearless, playful and a clown. Her former owner calls her gentle, sweet and angelic! Bouncer loves to groom Yoda. Smitty- Adult male
Smitty is a stray who is happy to have a bed to snuggle in! He is a sweetie and just loves to be petted. He looks at you with such trusting eyes-- even though he’s been on his own for a while. He is a curious guy who is out to prove he’s just not another pretty face! Please stop in and say hello to him. |
Mamie- Senior female
Mamie is a lovely lady who isn’t sure why she still isn’t lounging on her owner’s lap. She was with the same owner since she was a kitten, but unfortunately her owner moved into senior housing and could not take this beautiful girl. Mamie is a little nervous about her move to HART and hopes that someone will take the time to see how much she has to give. She has very good manners and is looking for the same in an owner!

Daisy Duke -Young female
Daisy Duke is a very dainty dilute torti girl who is almost ready for her new forever home. She is currently raising her 5 kittens in foster care, but they are almost 8 weeks old and will be leaving the nest soon! Daisy is a bit cautious around people she does not know. She enjoys playing and being petted and has turned into quite a lap cat, says her foster mom. Daisy has beautiful soft muted colors on her silky smooth short hair. Sam- Adult male
Sam III is a wonderful adult cat who was an owner surrender because he was elderly and needed to move from his own home into facility that didn't take cats. Sam is a lap cat, cuddling every night with his owner on the bed. he plays some, but is much more interested in being with you on the couch, or gazing out the window in the sunshine. Sam is a little sad at being in the shelter..he doesn't know what happened to him! This guy is a true yellow tabby with the mellow personality to go along with his classic good looks. Amari- Young female
Amari is a very sweet young lady who was found as a stray. She is quite petite, and was found in the same area as Justin, a young male kitty with similar markings. They are both brown tigers with a lot of white in their coats. They are surely related as they get along so well with each other and look alike. Amari is a bit unsettled at the shelter, but is getting more relaxed each day. She is gentle and sweet..and just needs a bit more TLC..won't you be the one to give that to her? |
Shadow and Lou- Adult males
Shadow and Lou came in together as an owner surrender. When the family's young child would play rough with them, one or both would bite her.. They are both incredibly friendly and outgoing. Hopefully we can keep them together as they are very close. Probably neither should go with youngchildren. If someone was looking for two friendly, lovable cats...these would be the guys! Seriously. Shadow is a short hair black and white tuxedo. He is 7 or 8 years old, but acts younger. Shadow is active, friendly to everyone, affectionate, talkative, playful. He likes to chase and pounce on things, but loves to cuddle at night. He plays gently. He is sweet and loving and adores Lou. Lou is a short hair black and white boy, 6 - 7 years old? They look and act like brothers, but perhaps not. Lou is very affectionate, loves hugs and kisses and belly rubs. He is a true lap cat.. He is very cuddly and loves to give kisses and cuddle. You can hold him like a baby. He is a couch potato, quiet and friendly to everyone. He plays gently Please call soon to meet these great boys and make them your own! |

Midnight and Misty- Adult females
Midnight is a short hair all black female who is about 2 1/2 years old. She is an owner surrender because the owner was moving out of state for a new job and no pets were allowed. Midnight came in with Misty. Midnight is described as being very cuddly and lovable. She enjoys being held and loves kids. She is a lap cat, a couch potato and is quiet. Midnight is friendly to family and visitors and plays gently. She likes to play in water and with other cats. She would groom Misty and sleep with her. Misty is a short hair black and white female, also 2 1/2 years old. She has beautiful green eyes and a cute black nose. She is very independent and extremely curious. Misty is active and playful and also friendly to everyone. She just loves to explore everything!. She can be affectionate...when she wants to be. Misty would groom sleep with you Midnight and they would sleep together. When she is looking for love, she will want to. Please come meet these nice kitties and make them yours!

Copper- Adult male
Copper was born in September of 2001. He came to us about a year later. He was found as a stray kitten at about 11 months old. His mom had disappeared and his siblings didn't make it. Copper was taken in by a family and was defensive and aggressive at first, but then relaxed. But he wasn't good with their young child. He has tons of personality and jumps up and will hang on the door to to his room at the shelter. He likes to see what's going on out in the hall, especially at night. Copper is always the first to come to the door. He is very friendly, but would need someone that would be patient and take time with him. Copper would do best in a quiet home without young children or dogs. Copper is used to other cats. Please call to give this guy a chance....he is a real funny guy who just needs some more TLC!

Melody - Young Adult female
Melody is a very pretty and very sweet female kitty who was found as a stray and brought to the shelter. She is about 1 1/2 years old, and when she first came was thought to be pregnant. She went into foster care, and it was soon realized that she was not. However, her foster family thinks she is such a nice girl they are finding it hard to bring her back to the shelter. Melody loves kisses and pets, and does her own little head butt to get you to pet her some more. She loves to snuggle at night next to you. Melody is also a very playful girl. She loves a string toy, and also catnip mice which she carries around in her mouth! Melody is not bothered by dogs, but so far is not terribly fond of other cats. Angelica- Young female
Angelica is a very sweet young girl who came in as a stray, but is just as sweet as can be! She has beautiful brown and black tiger striping and a pretty white bib on her chest. She is gentle and affectionate. Angelica is less than a year old and all ready to join your loving family!

Zoie- Adult female
Zoie is approximately 4 years old and is a very pretty tortie/minx with both brown and grey markings. She was surrendered due to her owners moving and not able to take her with them. She is a very sweet girl and seems to be a bit talkative. She is used to cuddling with her owners, so she hopes you’ll take her home and let her cuddle up to you!

Makita- Adult male
Makita is a handsome all black long hair male, including a black nose and whiskers---although he does have a couple of white whiskers mixed in. Makita has tons of personality and is a very cool cat. He is 6 years old and was an owner surrender as they could not afford his medications and weren't able to handle administering the meds. Makita has diabetes. He is declawed on the front paws. He is a very vocal boy and will (more like wail) cry to get your attention. He is friendly to family and strangers and is very active and playful. He likes to chase and pounce on things, but plays gently. He has been with kids and is a good companion for them, but probably would do better in a quiet, older home. Makita can be a tad moody at times. He is a clown, fearless, and again, quite talkative. |

Justin- Adult male
Justin’s owner moved and left him behind, but that’s ok, things are already getting better for this boy! He is young, energetic and if someone is looking to give a young boy with a rough start some love and attention, Justin is the cat for you. Garfield- Young male
Garfield is the cat’s meow! Have you ever seen such beautiful coloring? And, he has a big fluffy tail too! Garfield is only about a year old...and still a playful and active guy! He is extremely affectionate and is an all around A-1 guy. Unfortunately, he was surrendered by his owner who could no longer keep him. Come and meet him if you’re looking for a young curious cat that will be a great companion for you. What can we say, he has it all!

Hunter- Adult male
Hunter is such a handsome boy. He has beautiful light colored eyes and his coat is so soft to the touch. Hunter is about three years old. He was surrendered by his owner not due to any bad behavior-- and if given a chance Hunter will melt your heart. He does fine with dogs and would like a second chance in a new house |
Spanky- Young male
Spanky is a handsome young black male kitty who is under a year old. He was found as a stray in Gray and brought in with a couple of other kitties who we think were "dumped" at a caring person's house in a secluded area in Gray. Spanky has soft fine black hair with a small patch of white on his chest. he came in with Sparky, Shasta and Namia. These kitties are all friendly albeit a bit reserved at first. Spanky has adjusted quite well to being inside where it is safe and warm. please call to meet this happy playful guy.

Megan- Young female
Megan is an affectionate orange and white kitty who was found as a stray. She is extremely loving-- and her idea of a good time is head butting and purring! She is young and energetic and appears to get a long with other cats. Please stop by to see this lovely gal, she will make it worth your while! |
Teale- Adult female Teale is a 3-4 year old brown tabby who came in with Oreana. She has very pretty tiger markings and has beautiful gold eyes. Teale is unsure about her new surroundings but is happy to be with her pal Oreana. We hope you’ll take a look at this cute tabby, as she will be a great fit in a loving home.

Peppermint- Adult female Peppermint is a very pretty young lady who was returned to the shelter after just a few short weeks in the home. She was too active for their older cat. Peppermint was a stray who made here way to the shelter earlier in the summer. She is only about a year old, and very outgoing and sweet. She is young...so still very playful and curious. Peppermint would love to find her forever home with a family who has another feline companion closer to her age, or a dog or older children who would really play with her. Florence- Adult female Florence is a two year old stray who has had a rough start. She has such pretty coloring and is oh-so happy to have a warm bed and plenty of food! Oreana- Adult female Oreana is a 3-4 year old brown tabby who came in with Teale. She has the sweetest eyes and is very easy to handle. Oreana is adapting to her new surroundings and hope you’ll notice her sweet personality and how well she gets along with her pal Teale!

Luna is a female gray and white stray from Yarmouth. She has such good manners and is already settling in. Even though, she has been on her own for a while, it looks like some good Samaritans must have been helping her as she looks like she would know her way around a comfy couch! She has beautiful light brown eyes that look right at you and say, “feed me.” Come in and meet this pretty gal. |
Tuffers- Adult female What a beautiful girl Tuffers is! She is about 8 years old and was surrendered by her owner as he left the country and could not take her, or her pals Teale and Oreana. She is lovely and a bit unsure of her surroundings, but hopes that if you like a gal with Maine Coon markings, you’ll give her a chance! |
Marshmallow- Adult female Marshmallow was dropped off inside the front door at HART. She is a beautiful young gal with white fur and golden eyes. Marshmallow is affectionate and oh-so happy to be petted and paid attention to.Her owners left her with some other kitties in a box at our shelter. This wonderful kitty is polydatile on all four paws! Please stop by and see this lovely lady.

Ladybug- Adult female Meet Ladybug, a 3 year old calico who is a little love bug. She had a home but unfortunately her owner bought a big dog and Ladybug hid under the neighbor’s porch. We know that she gets along with others, as rumor has it that she shared the porch with a skunk or two. Ladybug is affectionate and happy to be in quieter surroundings.
